Pen and Ink

Let’s go into woods, or “promenons nous dans les bois” is my favorite invitation… Growing up in Quebec, the forest was always the land of pristine and wild nature. The wildness needed to be respected, even feared. Paths were seldom found other than in parks or in managed lands. It’s only when I moved to New England that I understood what the woods really were. These smaller patches of nature, are hiding everywhere around us, they are in our neighborhood, behind our houses. It was in these small jewels of wilderness, hiding ruins of homesteads and labyrinths of stone walls, that became the inspiration for countless drawings of mine.
